Adam Dance, Liberal Democrat MP for Yeovil, has strongly opposed the Government's recent decision to cut the Winter Fuel Payment. Despite his opposition, the measure was passed by the Labour Government.

Adam Dance MP, representing Yeovil and South Somerset, expressed deep concern following the vote:

"Thousands of pensioners across our communities are now facing increased uncertainty about how they will cope this winter following the cut to the Winter Fuel Payment.

"Many elderly residents are already grappling with the ongoing cost of living crisis, and this decision only adds to their burden.

"The Conservative government has left our economy in a fragile state, but punishing vulnerable pensioners in Yeovil and South Somerset is not the solution the country needs.

"Today, I proudly stood against this harmful policy and fought for the pensioners in my constituency who now face an even tougher winter ahead.

"The Liberal Democrats will continue to oppose this cut. We are committed to delivering the real change people want to see and will keep fighting for a fairer deal for our communities."
