Liberal Democrat MP for Yeovil Adam Dance has today marked his first 100 days in office by reaffirming his commitment to saving the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at Yeovil District Hospital and opposing cuts to the Winter Fuel Payment.

Since his election, Adam Dance has prioritised critical issues impacting the local community, particularly healthcare services and support for vulnerable residents. His commitment to protecting vital services will remain central to his work in Parliament.

“In July, I pledged to fight to save the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at Yeovil District Hospital and to protected residents affected by the rises in the cost of living; the decision since I was elected by the Government to remove the Winter Fuel Payment for many pensioners will cause unnecessary poverty,” said Adam Dance. “These issues will remain at the very top of my agenda.”

During his first 100 days in office, Adam has communicated with the Health Secretary and officials to insist on safeguarding the Stroke Unit and will keep pressuring the Government to reverse the decision.

Adam also joined fellow Liberal Democrat MPs in speaking out and voting against changes to the Winter Fuel Payment.

In addition to his work in Parliament, Adam has been active across the constituency, visiting numerous businesses and community groups and organisations. His office has handled over 1,000 cases, providing assistance to residents and ensuring their concerns will be heard in Westminster.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in just 100 days,” said Adam Dance. “But this is only the beginning. I’m determined to deliver real change for Yeovil and South Somerset. Our community deserves nothing less.”
